A cunning plan, Roy. I have a couple of Manfrotto RC2 QR platforms (MN323 to be precise) which means I could do the same as you and potentially stick just with the R3s instead of the T1s. It's certainly something I shall look into. Thanks for the brain jog.Just out of interest I often carry the 300/2.8 + converter + 7D (8 lbs+) with a BR-7.To save taking the lens plate on/off the 300/2.8 tripod foot every time I use a Arca quick release clamp and it works great. I would certainly recommend a BR strap.
BTW to save unscrewing the fastener from the quick release clamp when I use a smaller lens I have a second R3 fastener.
What convinced me was on one forum a lot of the users were using the BR to carry/use 500/4 lenses so I figured that my 300/2.8 was small potatoes compared with that lens.Hmmmmm. Long considered buying one of these, was concerned over a 1D and a heavy lens hanging upside down. So, read the thread, watched the R7 video, went to Hawks and pressed the button. Let's hope it turns out well...

It was on Birdphotographers.net I will see if I can find the thread.Would be interested in reading that thread, linky? TIA.
i have a rs4. got it for xmas after leaving hints. so much better than the standard strap.
should be on every ones list. so easy to use.
forgot to mention i have a lowepro slingshot bag and both work together very easy. as the slingshot goes over other shoulder(right shoulder) rs4 (left shoulder)

I just tried my Black Rapid DR-2 twin strap worn under a winter coat and with a regular rucksack on top and there was no problem at all in freely accessing the cameras and getting them up to shooting position. I didn't try using one strap in sling configuration, but I can't think why a rucksack would be a problem in that scenario either. Maybe if you use the rucksack chest strap (I didn't) it might conceivably get in the way but if positioned high on the chest I don't imagine there would be a problem. If the diagonal strap of a Slingshot doesn't get in the way then I think a rucksack should definitely be safe enough.

£50 for a camera strap eh, don't think I'll be able to explain that one to the missus!![]()
