With the recent event on a ship running aground in blackpool I think there is a good posibilty of some interesting pics to be had!

Yeah I was thinking that too! Shame it isnt a bit more easy for me to get to :( Might have to give it a go though :) Could be good if you get snow on the ground too!

im going tomorrow and its cleveleys not blackpool

Typical - I spend nearly every Weekend in Cleveleys as that is where the GF lives but this weekend the's off to the MEN with her mum to see some clebs dance :gag: so I've decided to stay at home and go togging with dolomitefan in the Peak District (snow levels permitting).

Oh well I think it's likely to be there for a while - next weekend maybe when it's back to normal.

well they put off re-floating it tonight, due to bad weather

The coast guard has said they will have to get people on board the ship and give the ship a once over secure the load then wait for the weather to improve and a tide to help to refoat the ship & perhaps even a tug to tow the ship to deeper water.
They think (up to early this morning) the ship had lost a container or two over board.
(Its not to far off shore and quite easy to photo I got some and interviewed by a local paper and TV, hope my green complection works well with TV:p

News just said it lost about 60 containers. Seems an awful lot of containers to have on a deck of that size.

60 containers wow, that is a lot for the deck size. Some of it has washed up on the beach, a few bags of peat up to now.

Different ship- that's the Horn Cliff in difficulty off the Scilly Isles

Meanwhile, another rescue operation was under way to airlift a seriously injured captain off a cargo ship damaged in heavy seas.

The skipper of the Horn Cliff, a cargo ship carrying bananas and other fruit from the Caribbean, encountered a force 10 storm off the Isles of Scilly, resulting in the captain sustaining serious injuries, Falmouth Coastguard said.

Two passengers on board were also hurt - one with a broken hand and another with head injuries - but these are not so serious, a spokesman said.

Falmouth Coastguard said the vessel also lost about 90 containers during the storm and has suffered some damage and is listing slightly but there is no danger of it sinking.

I think you are getting mixed up with another vessel.
The one at Cleveleys is a small RO-RO, not a container ship.

I think there were biscuits on it too.

it is law u can take it, but must report you took it to the police, so they can contact the owners for them to decide wether they want them back or not, however the police seem to forget that law when it suits them lol

You want some good pictures here pictures you cant get :D
