Blackfishing?

Not when I was at school and learning geography, seem to remember OZ was lumped in with Asia titled Australasia(sp).
I remember that but my guess is that you failed GCE Geography ‘cos it’s not AU + Asia just an older name for AU + surrounding bits ;) :

And NZ has a claim to be a continent (Zealandia) because it sits on a big bit of underwater stuff ;).

When there was an Empire, there was the Near East and Far East. Weirdly I don't believe the Indian subcontinent featured in either, as it was just India. The Orient was all points east of the Malacca Strait and North of what is now Papua New Guinea, being generally the area colonised by Chinese emigrants and Japan/Korea.

Getting back to the subject, in a way. I hadn’t come across this before, is it Jewfishing? These are basically Nazis which makes it even odder:

Although the term Empire was used meaning all the colonies and dominions I think the only actual Empire was India from when Queen Vic was anointed with the title of Empress of India about which she was said to be very chuffed :). I could be wrong :(.

My problem is, I hate any form of discrimination, whether it be racial, sexual, age or any other form, but I also hate the people who jump on bandwagons and get offended on other people's behalf. I think that happens a lot now.

Newcastle United fans have been accused of 'cultural appropriation' for wearing towels on their head after the recent takeover of the club, being slated on the usual social media channels, but apparently it was on TV in Saudi Arabia and they all found it funny and not offensive in the slightest.

To my very simple brain it's no different to our kids having a tea towel on their head for the annual nativity play in school :ROFLMAO:

Yes, though slightly tricky working out what it signified. Most Saudis wouldn’t know ‘towelhead’ is a common term of abuse towards Arabs :).

Well actually I passed O level geography - no GCEs in Scotland- and remember initially there were 5 continents, before everyone wanted a bit of the action. I remember descriptions such as “inscrutable orientals” in books and China and Japan as being in the Orient, but not Leyton, I may just simply be older than some on here.

Well you're not much older than me.

Yes, people used to refer to China and Japan as the Orient but they are still in the continent of Asia. Even your link says that those countries are classified as Asian nations.

Belated congratulations! :jaffa::jaffa::jaffa:

They keep changing their names so I went with what is was when I was at school (England).

Yes. I’m not going to look it up but I’ve never thought the system was very good - Europe+Asia+other bits looks like one land mass to me :).

I've occasionally wondered how these "Supermen" would fare if the FBI gathered them all up and dropped them, together with their huge stocks of weaponry, in the Negev.

I'm sure the IDF would be delighted to meet them... :naughty:

That will soon be banned then!

I see the clubs owners have approved the wearing of ‘replica kit’ ;)so Newcastle FC have rescinded their notice of not doing this.
