Blackened papers, but not how you think?

Yes
This is a bit bizarre, and its had me scratching my head for a while... I've been asked if photo paper would darken noticably in daylight without chemicals.
The reason I'm asking, a friend takes part in a roleplay game set slightly in the future, with various radiation hotspots, and is wondering if paper could be used as a prop to represent dosimeters, turning darker once they go outside.
Any ideas guys?

Yes it will, but it might take a few hours or even days.

Something which is sensitised with silver nitrate, such as albumen paper will only be sensitive to UV light so will be o.k. under artificial lighting but will darken in a few minutes in sunlight - not too practical though as you would have to make it rather than buy it.

Would it have to be made in situ or could I make some here and send it to him prior to his needing it?

You might get away with making it a couple of days in advance if you keep it in the dark.

the royal observer corps used to use photo paper in a drum kinda like a pin hole camera outside the posts to measure nuke blasts and height
