Just printed of an A3 image for a club comp next week. Whilst the image itself is OK, the paper has several nasty black streaks down the reverse? They don't show through and when it's mounted it will look ok, but any thoughts on what's happening and how to cure it please. (It's an Epson Photostylus 1400). Also, I did an A4 earlier and that's not affected.

Totally useless with this sort of thing, and a bit if a rooky when I comes to printing my own stuff, so thanks in advance for any advice.

If you usually do edge to edge A4 prints, the support rollers inside the printer which lie at the edge of the paper will get a little bit of ink laid on them. When a larger sheet of paper is pulled through, the back of it picks up some of this ink - black streaks.

Thanks Nod. This was the first A3 I've done for a while so that would explain it. Have to get the printer manual out and see how to clean it, or just put some A3 office paper through a couple times to see if that will cure it.

For a cheaper option, just run A4 through it in landscape orientation - same height as A3 width!

if you could open the lid, could see if the rollers have black marks on them
