Looking at getting one of these for use with my canon gear from my local camera shop.
I'm a bit confused though as there seems a few different ones.
My current kit consists of
Gripped 50d
18-55
50-200
50-500os
200 2.8
85mm
50mm

Is there a strap better suited to the big sigma lens I have or do they all take the same sort of weight.
Thanks in advance!

The differences are mainly design rather than load bearing, but I'd recommend one with the under arm strap as it helps the strap from sliding about too much, think they are the sport models now.

I have the Sport and use it with a gripped D7100 and the Sigma 150-500 and it works fine, would not have one without the under arm strap either

+1 for the Sport with underarm strap. I use one with a gripped 60d and 150-500 OS and don't notice its there. The underarm strap is great I you use the clips to stop the body moving when you are walking/running

I have the Yeti Slim and it's really rather good. So nice to find a photographic company who make women specific products. :-)

The underarm strap on mine is *really* good. I use it for when I'm doing events where I'm running around woodland with two bodies (including one with a large lens) and it really does stop a lot of the movement.

Sounds good thanks for the replies so far.

If you're going to be carrying around the heavy lens with any regularity I would advise on getting a shoulder based strap asap that distributes the load better than the standard camera strap. The reason I bought the Yeti that slings on my left shoulder is because I have problems in my right shoulder partially caused by photography and loading cameras badly. I can assure you, physio to fix it is more expensive that just buying the damn strap in the first place...

I had the Sport too, with the underarm strap....makes carrying a heavy camera a lot more bearable and comfortable.

I too have dificulties with my right side, which is why I now use a backpack for carrying cameras. I currently use a optech pro strap which is terrible at distributing the weight.
Will have to see if I can get on with them.
As for the cheap ones, not sure if I would trust 2k value of kit on one.

Yes then. Get a Black Rapid 100%. For me it has made carrying a camera around bearable (in fact, two cameras!). Previously I just couldn't keep my camera around my neck, I had to pack it away after every single shot. I paid like, £100 for the strap to be imported from the US on the day it was released? Well worth every penny.

It also holds your camera in a much more natural way. I always found that with the neck straps the camera would point out really awkwardly and catch on things, but this lets it hang downwards. It's also an easier position to pick it up from as well. I just cannot recommend it enough, their straps are amazing and have totally changed my photography.

(Plus also get the feel good factor that you're supporting a company who make products for women and smaller men! The fact that they recognise not everyone is the same size is the reason why their straps fit so well!)

I also have the Caden version. Stick a black rapid fastenr on it, and it's no different, except my one doesn't have the under arm strap.

I have the Caden one at the minute, much comfier because of the neoprene piece but find the strap itself not quite stiff enough and it can twist a bit

There is a similar one on DX.com with the strap under the shoulder btw

My caden one is different than the link posted above, its identical to the BR.

Hi all, thanks again for the replies on this thread. My wife brought me one, it was the limited edition version. Used it today after having it a few weeks. Been really pleased with it and it really is much more comfortable in use than a normal strap.
