Received my RS7 strap today and that was quick from Amazon.

Fast impression of the strap is solid and I quickly tested the strap with my grip D300 with 28-70 f2.8 lens and I feel no weight at all.

Only question i got and it maybe a stupid one is:

The black clip thing on the back of the strap. How stable is that, i mean when i strap it on with my camera, someone behind me can potentially unclip that my while camera will slipped to the floor.

Is it me worrying too much or i should just put my hand on the camera even is on the strap?

oddly enough thats the first thing i saw when considering this strap and it was an instant no for me. like you thats what i thought.

Maybe I should buy the extension part just go under my armpit for extra protection?

I don't think it's "likely" that someone would/could unclip it without you knowing. It could be secured together with some cord if it is a major concern.

But the main reason for my reply is that I don't think it's wise to use the BR strap attached to an add-on battery grip combined with a heavy lens... particularly if it's a 3rd party grip.

There's flex in the grip to body connection and I had it cause a D7000 grip to fail when using a BR attached...and that doesn't even consider structural failure of the grip if it's a particularly cheap one. I was glad it was the grip's contacts that failed and not the camera's (it was actually doing something weird electrically causing the camera not to operate correctly).

Can't fault my RS7. Been using it all week whilst in holiday in Cornwall and its been the best camera accessory I have ever bought.

ok the buck will solve my problem :) easy fix.

I'm really concern now about using BR strap with battery grip after someone from above mention it =.=

I like my d300 with grip when shooting outdoor and my grip is original nikon grip.

If someone can cut that cable tie without me noticing they'd be the Pickpocketing world champion.

Problem solved!

Saved myself £50 buy buying the Qstrap that's advertised on here, £40 of that paid for a battery grip for my D7100 and the other £10 a meat feast pizza.....far more win :D

The question do sound silly now =.= but i just raising my concern about that, apart from that the strap is comfy and good to use.

Buck ordered :) Altho is pricy for the buck but it at least does the job. Might as well spend that £10 after paying for the RS7 strap already =.=

I bought the buck, looks neater, but a couple of friends have gone down the cable tie route. It's cheap and it works.

Love the strap, I almost forget I have to 300 on the camera!

I fitted two small cable ties through the plastic clip to be extra safe on my black rapid strap

I do like the cable tie idea and now i kinda regret of spending £10 on the buck ......... i guess is that extra protection i wanted right away to pursue me to buy the buck ........

Should of grab some free cable tie at work and use that instead lol.

im worried about getting one as i have a third party grip on a d7000 with a sigma 50-150 2.8 and sb 700, its more of the case would the grip hold

Me too, first thing I did when I got my strap almost 2 years ago. Been in Africa, New York etc since and it has always felt secure.

It holds my Gripped D300 with the nikon 28-70 f2.8 without a problem. I use sigma 70-200 f2.8 where i can attached it to the tripod collar.

My gripped D7000 with the tamron 17-50 f2.8 is absolute fine.

Consider all my grip is original.

Attach the strap to the lens rather then the grip, lens stress on the body then with a large heavy lens hanging from it

He uses a Sigma 50-150 f2.8 where the lens doesn't have a tripod collar so he can't attached it to the lens ........

I have been using blackrapid for a while so far so good, thanks to the other posted for good idea for making the safer
