Anyone using these straps ?

I use two bodies when shooting one on a pod and the other round my neck. The only thing is carrying a 70-200 on a 1d on a neck strap give me some aching neck muscles on a weekend ..

Any advice or recomendations from real life shooters would be really appreciated.

I bought an ebay equivelant for a fraction of the price. I can't remember its name right now but there are plenty to choose from. Its the best strap I have ever had i have carried a canon 40d with battery pack and 70-200 lens all day with no discomfort. It lets me carry the camera more discreetly than it hanging down my front and is easy to reach for when needed. After using a shoulder strap I will never go back to the neck strap again it was a total revelation to me.

I use one of these too and it is fantastic.

With the dual strap, i'll carry a 1d and 70-200 f2.8 and a gripped 5d and 17-40 all day long and there is no discomfort at all. Couldn't do without it.

I also use one of these - the RS-5 - and find it a fantastic strap, very comfortable and easy to use.

The only downside is I wish I had bought the RS-4 instead as I find the RS-5 quite bulky with the extra storage (which I never use), other than that I can't fault it .

I have the RS-4.

I love it....

Have my 7D and 70-200 hanging off it without a problem...

R-Strap excellent

I have the Balck rapid DR1.

I use it with a D3+24-70 and a D700+70-200...........Brilliant! Especially using the bumpers when not in use which stops the cameras bouncing everwhere off your hips. Its really comfy and no aches and pains after a full days shoot.

It also converts to single straps if needed.

Are they worth the price in monetary terms? No way....

Are they worth the price in terms of usage? Hell yes...

I have a "Quickstrap" from ebay (Less than £20) and its just as good as a Blackrapid...

It also has the benefit of a different type of attachment to the camera... which has a threaded hole on it so you can attach it to tripod/monopod without detaching the strap if necessary.

I know people with both, and to be honest, they are almost the same, I wouldnt pay >£50 for the Blackrapid when i can get similar quality for less.

I have the RS-7 with fastener R3 which I use to carry my 7D + 300/2.8 + tc (over 8 lbs) and it works great. I attach to the lens plate via a arca style QR clamp which saves taking the lens plate on/off.
If you are going to be carrying an heavy weight I would recommend that you get a kit with the new R3 fastener.
