Has anyone here got the Black Rapid Camera Strap the RS7 version and how you rate it please?

Does the shoulder strap slip down ? Or does it always stays in it place?

Stays in place AFAIK.

There's always the sport version with the support strap too.

I have the Sport, and have swung a D800 with grip, flash and large lens attached from it.

With the Sport you get the under-arm "Brad" clip which prevents the strap sliding down or back.

I've never had that issue. I've walked around with a D700 with battery grip, 70-200 f2.8 and an SB900 attached to it before, and it always handled it very nicely.

I use an RS sport with my Canon 5D Mkii + grip + 100-400 L lens and it doesn't slide at all.

Handles my gripped 5D3 and 300mm f/2.8 without any problems although I've got a bit of added security in the form of some additional strapping in case anything breaks :)

I'm thinking about getting one of these as I'm travelling at the end of the year and will be doing a lot of hiking. I just can't help but think surely a camera hanging down my side will bump into my hip no end?

I bought RS-7. While I love it I don't like the extra buckle compared to RS-4.

While it seems to be firm, I don't like the idea of having extra plastic point of failure on my camera strap. Also I think it could be easier for thieves to steal your gear just by opening that buckle on RS-7 and running away. I prefer original RS-4 design.

I think this buckle is more a big design compromise as Black Rapid believe they can sell us more accessory pockets, etc. if they have open design.

Should I need a new strap, I would get original RS-4 instead.

Thing is with buckle we can keep manfrotto tripod plate on camera with black rapid scew. Easy take strap on and of

I've got them attached to my 7D and 5DII - walked all around Paris with a 24-105mm and it was great. Going to buy one for my brother's partner when we go and visit.

My black rapid strap enables me to carry my camera (d7000 battery grip and 24-70) when out and about and also deal with 3 kids and a photo widow wife.

After all the fantastic write ups, I've just bought myself the woman's version. Haven't come across a product so highly recommended before.

It's one of the best camera equipment purchases I've ever made, faultless.
