Black Friday

Its weird but didn't they pretty much start the trend with Wallymart in the good old US of A
 
its pointless anyway.

its either - a) tat that nobody would normally buy, or b) stuff that had its price conveniently raised a couple of weeks ago and now dropped for the "sale".
 
There were a few bargains in my local store, but it was hell for us poor buggers that actually worked it. I'm really glad we're not doing it again this year, its an American gimmick I really don't think we need.

Especially when all the old tat they couldnt sell during the year gets rolled out in 2 months in the january sales anyway.

The Chinese have a better one its on tomorrow 11.11 every year. aliexpress are showing the 11.11 prices now.

I think greed is right up there with the worst traits personally there are others that are equally bad such as racism etc but greed is pretty poor trait to have :(
 
Not my thing at all, no thanks...Hate shopping at the best of times.
 
I'm in the market for a new laptop, needs to be decently spec'd as I need the grunt to run some heavy programs, will be checking out local shops tomorrow to see what kind of deals are going.

Depending on what's up on offer. Amazon normally has a few decent deals.

What makes me laugh is these British companies that have been advertising Black Friday deals all month. They really don't get what it is about do they. Very lazy advertising.

I can't blame anyone wanting a bargain, just do your homework to make certain it is. And don't forget the classic retailers trick of low prices low margin branded products to wheel you in, so they can sell you their low priced high margin own brand stuff like those cheap TVs.

Yup pretty much. And gluttony, envy and sloth. Can't stand those either.
 
For the third year in a row I've bought some walking boots in a "black Friday" sale. I like a certain make and wear them walking to work most days so go through a pair in about a year. Makes sense to buy them when they're 75% off rrp and 40% off the Amazon price.
 
Im watching ebuyer just to see if any of my planned gaming bits come up cheap thats it.
 
I have no money and 7 family birthdays in December...... Black Friday/Cyber Monday are non-events in my book :lol:
 
Over the last few years, I've kept an eye out for Black Friday deals. Initially it was just Amazon with their lightning details. This year though, with a wedding and buying a new house, I'll have to skip the "deals" and look at what I need rather than want.
 
Amazon will have a Canon 7d in their Black Friday at 9am tomorrow morning for Amazon Prime users.

I reviewed all of amazons suggested offering in their lightning sales between midnight this morning and seven tonight. There wasn't a single item I would be interested in.

Turning out to be a very cheap day today :)
