i am trying to get hold of some really thick black card for macro shots, does anybody know where i can get some?, either high street shops or online. thanks
 
You could try Staples, if there's a branch near you. :)
 
I got hold of some a while ago from the local branch of Rymans.

But i've also seen it for sale in whsmiths and partners.
 
hi C.T, yeh had a look but i wanted something about 2ft square and they dont do anything that big, and i want it really thick possibly 3mm, 4mm, or something like that.

hi, i am based in bradford, west yorkshire. but i do not know of any artist material shops only whsmith and the card is not big enough or thick enough.
 
If you have a craft shop nearby you'll be able to get just what you want. I got a 3ft x 3ft piece for about £3. Failing that, do you have a framing shop? The framing mount is perfect as it's quite thick.

That's like telling you to go to London for something. Leeds is miles away, esp if he only wants to spend a few quid!

How about a sheet of MDF sprayed matt black ?. Nice & stiff and any size up to 8'x4' :)
 
The hobbycraft in Leeds is pretty easy to get to from Bradford as it is just off the M621. So if all else fails make the 10mile journey it'll be worth it I promise!

Hobbycraft sell it for £3.50 for a sheet of A1 card... Bought some myself yesterday

W H Smiths sell card of all colours including black, might not be thick enough for you though :)
