black and white raw

Just a quick question. Went out today shot some "in camera" b/w shots raw format. (canon eos20d) . Opened the files in eos viewer all b/w as expected. When i went to process them in photoshop and opened them in bridge they were in color.????????. now i know "raw" retains all the data but is there a way of producing a "raw" b/w picture or do i have to convert to tiff or another format.????????

You need to use the Canon RAW editor afaik. Other programs won't read the stored Canon Picture styles. I sometimes shoot in BW but its only to get a better idea of things on the day. I still convert them myself at home later in PS.
