Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone knows any cheap places I can get some Ilford chemicals for printing.

I am setting up a darkroom in my house but I am not sure where to look.

Also, if anyone is selling a safety light or some trays please let me know!

merrrv -with my mods hat on -please don't try and trade outside of the classifieds - your not allowed in there at the moment, but bear with us, and it's worthwhile.

as far as the ilford chemicals... there's lots of places - but the problem is, the liquid chemicals are not generally allowed by the royal mail, so you're paying for couriers. Top and bottom of it is, cheapest place is the one you can collect from. Not knowing where you are, makes it difficult to recommend anyone...

Sorry Yin, I wasnt sure why I was not aloud onto the classifieds threads, So sorry again, I will just hang on until I can get on there.

I am located in Gillingham Kent, I sometimes go to London so I am not sure if there are any decent places up there or not.

If you go up to London, pop into Silverprint - it's about 10 minute walk from Waterloo station. Without having to factor in postage, they often work out cheapest for some stuff.

thank you to, I think I would prefer to collect so thats not a bad distance

Just North of Euston Road is Calumnet, get most of my chemicals from them.
you could use dry powder and make up your own but I think they only come in HUGE quantaties.

Since I have been looking at these suggested links, I have come across new chemicals I have not heard of before.

I used the ilford multigrade paper developer when I was doing my Diploma which I think comes under neutral developers?

however I do not know what warm or cold or moersch and a thew others are.

I am used to using the ilford multigrade papers/chemicals. But if there is something equaly as good/better or if other printing methods are cheaper if anyone could give me information that would be a great help

Any one know where I could get developing chemicals in or around Edinburgh?
