Black and White Action

Hi all,

I currently use Photoshop CS and Nikon NX2 software packages for all my editing.

Would love to have Nik Silver efex pro but funds are tight at moment, so wondered if anyone has come across some good (cheap) black and white conversion actions they would like to share.

Take a look at www.atncentral.com for quite a few B+W conversions personally I like the gorman B+W conversion where you can alter the degree of darkness in the image

Check out virtual photographer, I think it's still free and does a nice B+W conversion. Also check out Russel Browns website, I remember seeing some good B+W actions there somewhere.

Only my opinion and preference but I would never use a general action for conversions to mono. Simply because every photograph is different and benefits from different methods. the best thing to do is to understand the options available to you and then decide which to apply.
