Anyone know of a supplier / high street chain that sells sheets of gloss black acrylic / perspex ?

I'm looking for a piece to use as a base for some still life /product photography, so ideally only the size of a dining table, 3 to 6mm thick should be ok as it'll not be taking any weight.

I thought B+Q used to sell it, but it seems not :(

Any help greatly appreciated.

Does it have to be a high street shop? There are plenty of suppliers on that well-known on-line auction site.:)

On-line plastics suppliers ... or a local signmakers or glazing company ...

I don't have an account for the well known on line auction site to which you refer :)I was looking for a shop to go to really as the online retailers charge more for the delivery than the cost of the plastic.......and thats before royal fail even get to chuck it around for a week

I've been looking around the DIY stores Daryl, a couple of years ago it seemed pretty popular to use huge sheets of it on kitchen walls instead of tiles, and I remembered it being quite a reasonable cost for the given size.

I'll try the super frame place tomorrow :) thanks for the heads up

I unsuccessfully searched for the very same gloss black perspex locally.

I ended up buying one of those glass chopping boards (about 40x30cm and about 6mm thick) in plain black and whilst I was there I picked up a white one. I've got a feeling they were a fiver or so each. Probably a bit more scratch resistant than perspex too

SORRY - I'VE JUST RE-READ YOU POST AND MY SUGGESTION IS A TAD SMALL FOR YOU!!!
