Hi Guys
wedding to do this weekend .. been looking forward to it since last year when we got the booking .. great venue ... fantastic gardens and really great for some top shots ... went to check it out last weekend .. all week the weather will be fine ... now look rain / rain and more bl**dy rain forecast for Saturday ... another one for the weekend after and the forcast is it will get worse and worse ...

it is times like this i feel like knocking it in the head .... i only do half a dozen a year is it alot to ask for some sun :shake:

it is a large wedding so group shots will be tough inside .as small rooms ..

well we will do what we can .. the one thing there is no control over is the weather .

fingers crossed there is a break in the rain ... we stay for the day when ever we do a wedding so there is no time scale ..

please a bit of dry weather :help:

And you can guarantee that next weekend will be really sunny when you don't need it to be.

Yeah bloody weather, I got Tomorrow and Monday off too!

Do you mind? Some of us perverse types like rain.

Why? Well remember how lovely it was yesterday? I went into some local woodland, got pollened up and hada full-on asthma attack, peak flow meter, steroids for a week the flippin' lot.

I love the sunshine, I prefer the beach and sea when it's warm and now need hay fever medication before I dare venture out again.

For you I hope the sun shines.

you may get lucky and have a sunny interval at just the right moment!

Your worried, I got a 6 hour rock climb lined up for Sunday, that'll be fun in the rain. Wayne

I'm going kayaking tomorrow so dont mind too much, I'll probably end up soaking wet regardless of the rain

The country may be going down the pan economically but no one else can touch us for bl**dy rain!!

I hope you're lucky with the weather and get some sunny spells, when I went to the Wildlife Heritage Foundation last month, the weather forecast was light showers, even though it rained on the day , we had some sunny spells and the sun came out late afternoon, sometimes the weather forecast get it wrong which is good :)

I`ve got a shoot at woodchester mansion on saturday, looks like that`ll be indoors.

blimey, some people really do like to moan!

this is the UK.. Its not Barbados. Its April, which is the month most famous for being the wettest.
We've just had the hottest, dryest april with some amazing weather.
So, lets not moan about a weekend of rain (that hasnt even happened yet)

the weather forecasters can barely predict the next day's weather anyway

True, very true Gary............

 I just expect it will rain now and if it doesn't its a bonus. It's not worth stressing about if people pick this time of the year they have to expect inclement weather. It is annoying when you have a really nice venue though.

I bloody hope so because that is when I get married :D

The weather is the one thing, despite all the careful planning, we just can't control. I really hope we have good weather purely because the grounds are amazing!

But saying that, we've both said, rain or not, we are having a few outside! :D No point letting the weather ruin a good day!

Our photographer told us he once had a couple at the same venue as us and it did rain, the bride got so angry and upset that they couldn't get a decent photo all day :( What a shame!

well i'm not going to stress .. just hoped for some sun at such a nice place ..
as i say we stop all day .. so if there is a break then we have a chance ..

as for a little rain then as long as people don't mind being out side then i don't mind shooting ..

as for April being the wettest ... i think the last few years April has been one of our best months ...

Stop whinging. Surely it must have occurred to you when you decided to become a wedding photographer in the UK (rather than, say, Barbados) that it does rain from time to time here. You're supposed to be a professional.

It's all my fault I'm afraid.........

My bikes been off the road for 11 months. I've been pushing the engine builder to crack on with it as I need it for my 40th birthday trip to France in mid-may. I needed it back a week ago at the earliest so's I could get some miles on the rebuilt-motor, get my confidence in riding it back and generally "shaking it down" it down before the trip in less than 3.5 weeks now.

The engine's still not back but he's promised me yesterday that'll it on the bench to be rebuilt today and will be back in my bike tomorrow.

By the time the whole bikes up in road trim ready for the hopeful MOT on Monday that'll be 3 weeks till i go to France/Spain on it.

I need to get in about 1000 miles minimum before the trip so I'm planning on riding it everywhere, even to the corner shop for me sweets........

So you can guarantee, that's it's gonna p**s it down for 3 weeks solid i can tell you.

Smile, break out the "Weather can prevent some shots being taken" clause that you no doubt have in your contract with the B&G, break out your imagination and break out of your comfort zone and go for the wedding with both hands knowing that the location you've already spoken about will give you some real speacial shots..........and I guarantee, they'll never even miss the bleeding group shot.....

not whinging m8

i'm gutted for the couple .. they hire me .. and i want to give them the best possible ... and when they have hired such a great place it's a shame ..

have you never complained about any thing in your life .. :suspect:

just disapointed that after 2 weeks of sun .. we get a bad weekend with such a great venue .

as for pro .. am i not allowed to be dissapointed for someone .. surly that makes me more of a pro ... than one who dosn't give a ***** ... and there are plenty of them ... ;)

Ouch that's harsh. I can empathise with this havin shot weddings all through the last two rain sodden years!

I did a wedding last friday. Dull and overcast, made for some lovely fill-in flash shots in the gardens, then the heavens opened 3 mins after I stopped shooting!!

I like the photos Janice.

To be honest grey and overcast is perfect for the tog ........incoming !!!!!!!:D

spot on m8

don't mind overcast / cloud .. just buckets of rain .. and as it has been pointed out .. do the people who forcast have a clue .. now there is a job you can get wrong every day and still get paid ...

not sure where in the country you are going to be, but weather forecast seems to be brightening up for the weekend.. I swear the forecasters make it up as they go along

North wales m8 :shake: rains quite alot here :'( .. must move somewhere hot

Fingers crossed for you Roger, the forecasters only get the weather right occasionally, must be a great job, weather forecasters get it wrong & still get to keep their job, not very many of us can do that :)

Hey, ask them to do a quick change of locations, dare I suggest where I'm at right now :p ... just moved here last weekend, and it's been sunny practically 24/7

As for rain, it always makes the day more dramatic. Everyone thinks that a sunny day is ideal, but it is such a cliché .. so boring .. so typical. Rain, snow, storm, they add to make the day more memorable

I'm from North Wales and I like the weather.Blue sky and sun every day would be boring. I'll put money on it that you will get a weather window without rain unless your doing the wedding at Capel Curig. That area seems to have the highest rainfall in the UK at the moment !!

Guys

i have to agree that rolling cloud and a weather change can only enhance the photo's of the day .it makes for a whole different look to each shot .

i did one last year where the sun was in and out ... no second shot was a shot where i didn't have to change settings .. good job i can change as quickly as the weather

. if any one ever looks at Jason Cole's photos in the glamor section then as good as the photo's are they are always just blue Sky's ..stll fantastic shots though ..

i think i should have made my point clear that the for-casters had it down as rain all day , and heavy rain at that ... something they are now changing their minds about as we speak :suspect: ..

Weather forecast is looking better for the weekend now:

Check again later and you'll probably find there's no rain at all:D

cheers Kelack

this probably means snow then  .. which i'm not whinging about ..

well just checking gear again .. charging batteries .. printing check list of photo's the couple would like .

can't wait now .. i love the buzz and the occasion .. more than that love looking through the photo's next day ... we have been invited to the night do .. sometimes it happens we get to sit down for the main meal .. nice added bonus .. but it doesn't help the diet

well got to the brides house around 11 .. raining black skys ... 1 hr later the sun started to come out ..

the day was very mixed . it was perfect nice white fluffy clouds .. can't post any shots of the wedding party yet .. but here is why i wanted the weather to give me a chance to get some decent shots for them .. took around 1200 ... we need to be ruthless and cut alot so we don't bombard them with too many ..

another wedding this weekend .. the hotel have been in touch and we have a meeting tonight .. they are after a few photo's on canvas in black and white .. to try and showcase the hotel more as a wedding venue .

the wedding we are doing at the weekend has a black and white theme ...

fingers crossed
