Bitten by a dog ... grrrr

Could you not have got work without a degree ?

Cleaner, florist, delivery driver, grave digger. So yes! Looking at my current situation I would be more than pleased with such alternatives.

Bee a brick layer... loved it

Did steel erection in Paris tres bien

Designed parts for the MRCA/ADV latee Tornado F2/F3

You tell me but I take the now obsolete view the EVERYONE HAS WORTH even if they don't go to uni.

I value people on their own behaviours and commitments and I will pull people up by tgeir bootstraps if they have the nerve to commit and try a d yes even fail. As stated here - media studies are not real subjects yet we have members of TP at uni doing photography.... media study n'est pas?

I am still waiting to hear how much money all of us here are paying for students at Uni.

I paid for my youngestson to go and do "Sport Coaching and Management" Was unemploed for 4 days after that degree course was completed. He is better educated th0an many working in Politics....

So easy to pick on sectors... far easir to help and guide.

Someone got nipped by a dog, not everyone like car bonnet ornamrnts (sorry cyclists) The ban it all DM brigade are out and I a getting paid to sit on a sun terrace drinking silly expensive "real lemonade" from strange shaped glass bottles, waiting for a client rep whose car has broken down because he went to uni/rides a horse/dodsn't hate otbers or whatever.

I will donate some of my unearned commission today to the charity that helps haters get over their Daily Mail mind warping addiction

Abandon hope all who enter that zone

What a gorgeous day and no rain or conspiracy tbeorists either....
was that english? are you an immigrant? :cautious:

yes, but that is my point. The bulk of graduates do crap courses at crap uni's. it is their funding that should be withdrawn.

What funding and what courses? What universities

Data and examples please

Do tell

AND IF I WAS WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?

As it is I am a registered blind person (as in BLIND and not partially sited) on a Galaxy S4 MINI

Try it yourself and just squint a bit

See haters everywhere

A blind person on a photography board

Started with a box brownie in 62 but have now been registered blind for 3 months. Doung some lf my best work ever hobby wise

So am I now "worthless'

A benefits scrounger because I get a PIP?

So bring on tbe hate

BTW not all "blind" people have no sight at all and yes it is a beautiful day with beautiful people who do not hate that which they are taught to fear

Be grateful you live in a beautiful country

So that's it then? That's the choice of jobs unless someone has a degree? Blimey.

 Can someone remind me? Was it daugirdas who was bitten by the dog - 'cos he's really foaming at the mouth now!! :naughty:

No I was the dog based on your description :p

Crap from crap universities frankly speaking. Your comment is certainly nil and void for any of top 20 uk universities and most likely beyond that. My experience at Warwick could not be more different. Students must be properly motivated to take advantage of the education.

School education is another topic. There are some shocking examples, and many world wide surveys are not encouraging.
You are going to Warwick @ 16yo?

Anything below top 20 universities, anything that isn't law, medcine, science and IT, English, languages, history, arts, accountancy. People want to study, they need to pay.

Really?

Very twisted viewpoint at a time when China and India are driving their youth harder and harder to build new economies. Indian universities deliver cross spectrum graduates valued in developing and tecbnologically advanced nations but left to you that state is not for the UK???

Scotland free of the UK will not make that mistake.

not for the job I want to do no hence why I went to uni

Spot on and I went post grad too

Enjoyed the building sites too

I have a BSC hons in chemistry from the university of Aberdeen if you must know.

Lectures, like anything, are the student getting the benefit of someone elses time, expertise. This, IMHO, needs paid for by the students. In Scotland tuition fee's are paid for. Student loans, the finance comes from the government. Without the loans people wouldn't go, and I (as a tax payer) are helping finance this. It's not even like the loan, like a bank loan, has to repaid at a commercially viable rate and in a commercially normal time frame.

so, like a lot of people you didn't pursue a career based on your degree whats the big deal.

You do know a huge number of so-called frivolous degrees come under that umbrella, yes?

me too, oh god more free education all 10 years of it lol

Ah but you give it back in kind

Taxes
A bit ov communiy work
School Governor
Magistrate
Volu teer to assist Young Offenders

Etc

Got a dole cheque in March 86

Was unemplyed one day... £5.35

Never cashed it..... Its in my home office framed on the wall... Any time I get lazy it nags me.... Went and worked in demolition for 12 weeks - so from a suit to builders togs and bacm again.... Started my own business after that jaunt. At one time I employed 24 full timers

I think I paid my due... Still became a School Governor too

So we do what we can and helping someone is never wrong....

I currently don't pay tax, I don't earn enough lol

Same for many. Its these troubled times... You know when Billionaires get more and mord and more

Funny thing

Many 1950s US films use the same words the Chancellor etc use....

Chin up.

Where there is blame there's a claim.

Have you been bitten by a dog, or been affected by someone bitten by a dog? Are you frothing at the mouth in sympathy?

Quite a big one, like so many, I should have been in the work place younger rather than wasting time in a uni. I'd have paid more tax and taken less out of the economy, like so many others

Good Grief

That's almost the Burning Martyr defence....

Sodit, Grabbit and Runn take less of the compo and will chance your arm of merely knowing someone who heard of a dog bite victim.....
