You couldn't make this up!!.... you may have seen my recent post just asking about purchasing my next laptop??

I have TWO Windows 10 HP laptops. Up to date Yearly subscribed McAfee anti virus installed.

On my first HP laptop i had issues powering up in February. i have literally tried to power on my seond laptop for the same error to occur. Goes Straight into BITLOCKER RECOVERY asking me to type in a recovery code .... not supplied.

How can two seperate HP computers be affected by the same error?? BITLOCKER RECOVERY what is that and why is it happening?... HP support ssnd me to Microsoft. Mircrosft say :- no we're not giving you a code??

I can assure you my next laptop WON'T be HP
 
Bitlocker is hard drive encrpytion bundled with Windows 7 and up.

Looks like a very annoying bug.
 
Thanks for your time guys!! ........ I have not a clue what is the point of BitLocker encryption, Why its activated, i didn't download or install it. Its just HP laptops turn on one day and decide to lock you out of your system?????? Thanks @gramps by luck and logging in this way i found the key and it works! Dont understand why Microsoft have this but log into an account to find a copy of it sitting online. Dont get it???????:facepalm::facepalm:

Microsoft will NEVER give this out, well I hope so ;)

Bitlock is there for encryption purposes. Bitlocker is CESG approved which means it is tested to withstand some serious threat vectors. If your laptop ever gets stolen you should be able to rest assured that nobody will access your data. All my laptops a full disk encrypted.
