Been a bit busy the past couple, but found time a fortnight ago to pop along to my local speedway track to take in a meeting there. Took the camera gear as normal with the intention of shooting a few heats from the outside before the light dropped too much. Having had my fish and chips before the meeting I settled down to read the matchday programme, only to spot an advert asking for a photographer to cover their home meetings....! I have to admit that I didn't act on it immediately - I wasn't honestly sure if firstly I was good enough to take on the role of Track Photographer somewhere and secondly whether I had the nerve to front it out and give the impression that I was! A bit of a delay in the action though and I decided that what the hell, this was the first time I'd been there all season and there was the ad - it was meant to be! Ten minutes later I found myself out on the centre green, kit clutched in - somewhat anxious - hands, and wondering what the hell I'd taken on! Thankfully all went well - I settled into the unfamiliar surroundings nice and fast and got to grips quickly with the shape of the track, and turned out some of the best speedway shots I've done! :D As a result I am now - it seems - track photographer for Rye House's two teams and off the back of that have actually sold 5 shots too - which is a nice bonus! I shall post up some of the shots on sharing shortly - just though some of you might be interested to hear what had been occurring though! :p

Excellent news R - well done! Much deserved also. Now, how do you squeeze in some 12-24 shots at the track :D ?
