Need some help with my settings as my images seem to be coming out all distort with grain on.

What could this be?

Can you supply a bit more information and maybe post some examples?

"All distort with grain on" doesn't give us much to go on tbh :)

Grain or noise is caused by selecting a high value ISO

are you shooting with high iso and wide angle?
 
I'll take photo's now and show you what i mean im a newbie to all this so but of a no brainer lmao.

It's dark and grainy, and even when i get a light image it is still grainy.
 
But when i set it lower, you can barely see the image it's just black and outside when i get a light image its still grainy.
 
I see that you set the camera to manual...try a shot with the camera in auto mode..it could be that you have your exposure set wrongly manually
 
Are you in manual mode?
If so, change to aperture priority mode and the camera will chose the right shutter speed
You can then bump up the ISO depending on the light
