So last night I put a FB market place listing for an old pair of speakers.
They were a pair of Monitor Audio 14 floor standers from about 1988.
They belonged to a friend of mine Steven who bought them new about then , fast forward about 10 years to about 1997
he got married and had a kid and rang me up one day and said do you want these speakers?
I said why? he said i just don't want them poked and prodded and damaged and I have no place to hide them away.
I said yeah ok bring them round and they appeared in my kitchen, beautiful things in piano black.
So i stuck them on my AV system as discrete rears and they pretty much sat there for almost 30 years until now I am shifting loads of
old stuff prior to moving to GC, so I rang him up and said do you want them back now?
He said thanks for looking after them for almost 30 years but he had no use for them, please sell them on and keep the money, go out for a good meal on him.
So 24 hours after listing them a great older bloke came from Penistone.
He absolutely loved them and thanked me for the awesome condition then were in, time capsule he said.
I was sad to see them go :-( £130 will buy a great meal and a cracking bottle of fizzy......but
