Yes
To cut what has becoming an increasingly long story short, I bought a Sigma 70-200 2.8 from onestop-digital in January. It arrived and wouldn't autofocus. I returned it, they repaired it, sent it back to me... and it still didn't work. I returned it a second time and asked for a refund. They are now saying they have tested it and it works just fine...so I can't have my money back. What are my rights here? I know it makes it tricky because it's Hong Kong. I know it is my word against theirs over whether it works but I wouldn't have sent it back a second time if it was OK ... But now, even though they claim it's OK, I really don't want it back because I don't think I would ever be totally happy with it; and secondly, who's to say it would work when it came back (plus I'd have to pay to have it returned)
I am very, very frustrated to say the least

My camera is working fine, have used a variety of lenses over the past few weeks with no problems. And yes, I tried the lens on a different body... I wanted to check everything before returning it

What camera are you using it with? There's a known focus problem with this Sigma lens on D200s which Sigma can fix with a firmware upgrade (£35 without UK receipt, £5 with).

I tried it on a D80 and my son's D50. The second time I had the lens... aftetr they had apparently repaired it... it did auto focus on ther D80 for a couple of shots, then just stopped. On the D50 I couldn't even fire the shutter, never mind autofocus...

Hmmm...the lens was totally fine on my D80 - it's just the D200 it seems to have a problem with. Might be worth contacting Sigma in Welwyn Garden City (their service dep't are very helpful) to see what they suggest - 01707 329999.

Personally I'd issue a chargeback through the CC provider after discussing the issue with them. Then buy it from a Uk retailler and forgot the HK providers for future deals.

To do a chargeback the CC Co. will ask you to return the item requesting a refund and then wait 30days for a reply. Only then will they process the chargeback. At least that's what happened last time I did one but that was within the UK and things might be different as the item was purchased in HK and presumably it will be HK consumer law that counts here...

Get in touch with sigmaUK and tell them the same story.. see contact details phil T posted.. there usuall a very helpful bunch... its only a phone call or an email :)
