Speaking with a work colleague this morning, I reached the conclusion that I will never reach 40...

Next Friday (17th) 'would' have been my 39th Birthday, but for the birth of my Daughter on my Birthday last year. The way I see it, the 17th October is now all about Isobel (which im more than ok with), so really, it means that I do not have any more Birthdays.

Happy days...38 forever! :D

My friend had twins on her 34th birthday. She will like this rule.

Not happy!... could you not have made this thread ages ago so i could have followed it... 41 now and i wanna go back:(

Sorry T, no going back, and no hope for you im afraid :D ;)

While it was a rather extreme way to do it, my op of 2 years ago really did restart my life and was in a very real sense a rebirth day so I now celebrate that as well as the date of my birth so in this life, I'm 2!

A friend in Crete reverses the numbers in her age but is well and truly stuffed next year when she turns 56... Mrs Nod is looking forward to losing 45 years off her age there for our next Cretan holiday though. I am currently a teenager by that rule - a grumpy 15!

Calm down dear. Just switch to my method.

I am not 45 years old.
I am 25 years old with 20 years experience :-)

I can see a huge flaw in that too,
I bet she hated turning 18 :D

I'm 20 it say's so in my profile so it must be correct

I gave up having birthdays years ago, not because I'm concerned about my age but because they are just pointless.

Thanks Dave, but we shall still be celebrating my Daughter first year ;)

Birthdays mean very little to me as an actual day, I've never really been all that into celebrating them...not even the special ones like my 18th or 21st it's just another day for me....don't get me wrong I appreciate the cards, gifts and well wishes etc...but I've never really celebrated I think I was about 8/9 when I had my last birthday party frankly while I'm a social person I'd rather go out and do something I enjoy rather than a party  they just feel too much like a work day having spent the vast majority of my working life in the hospitality sector in one way or another

Next year I'll be turning 30 :( will be sad to see the end of my 20s

I get where you are coming from, Matt. For quite some years now, Christmas and Birthdays have meant little to me except that they generally represent holiday from work. Ive always preferred to do something for others on their birthday to try and give them an enjoyable day rather than particularly 'celebrate' my own as it were. Now, after receiving the best gift imaginable last year, I get to spoil her on her birthday (and probably the other 364 days of the year) without there being any focus on me :D

A sound and wonderful outlook there Nick :)

Thanks. Its possible that becoming a Father has turned me into a soppy tart :D

See I've always know that while I'm a sarcastic dark humoured oath I also have a truly soppy side to me
