Does any one know of a good centre for the above i live in Oxfordshire so somewhere within 60 miles if possible.

Hawk conservancy at Andover, maybe just a tad further than the 60. Taking my sister tomorrow as she has been given a "day with hawks" gift so if anyone has any tips. Sorry for thread hijack but may help you as well.

Just noticed you are from Didcot just up the road so within the 60.

You might want to ask the Mods to move this to the speciality talk nature section also.

The Barn Owl Centre at Gloucester should fit the bill - ask for Vince or check the website HERE

I hear good things about Eagle Heights in Eynsford Kent. They have 150 birds of prey covering 50 species.

The hawk conservancy is excellent and photographer friendly, rather than pay for an experience day pop down first, there are usually a bunch of togs on hand and all I've met are more than willing to help out with any questions :)

I've found myself there most weeks this spring/summer/autumn :)

Google Nigel Pye, he does owl days in Norfolk, bit far maybe for you but worthwhile as he's a really nice guy :)

Another vote for the Barn Owl Centre here - superb photography with birds with no jesses in natural surroundings and, the icing on the cake, they are all rescued birds and by going you help fund their rescue work as well.

There are a couple of example photos in my Flickr, here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sued2/
