Definitely under the weather when it first appeared but pleased to say it appeared again later in the day looking (especially the eye) and behaving more like a healthy example

We had a Collared Dove that looked and behaved oh so very 'out of sorts'. Whilst roosted in our large Acer it allowed(?) me to get within 4 feet ~ I did not push my luck or wish any further stress ~ it hung around the garden looking fluffed out like the Blackbird but I am fairly sure it was the same bird later in the day................it shook itself and started to preen and then looked much more normal, flying off after pecking around for any food.
Both mammals and birds can be surprisingly resilient when it comes to overcoming minor illness & injury but of course no doubt lots more do succumb to what ails them
