So I've been experimenting with time-lapses and my EOSR was in the back garden for 4-5 hours.
I brought it back in earlier and as I was putting the lens cap on I noticed a big piece of bird poo on the lens!!!:eek::eek:

It was my Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8L - I was that shocked I couldn't even take a decent picture of it as I just wanted to clean it ASAP.

Cleaned it off with warm water using a piece of kitchen roll, wasn't sure what else to use but it does seem to have all come off.

Oh dear, I'm glad it came clean. Thankfully that's never happened to me, touch wood. Also, I've had soft top cars for decades and no bird poo has ever come in, touch wood again :D

So, maybe you've had yours for life now :D

PS.
I know what bird poo can do to paintwork and I guess it could be pretty damaging to lens coatings and if so luckily it "only" hit the barrel.

I guess you didn’t use your own toothbrush [emoji848][emoji1]

Its a good job it wasn't a seagull you would have needed a bigger brush :D

Thank goodness cows don't fly, as they say...

See, L lenses are sh...……...

I suspect that somewhere nearby lives a Sparrow who's a Nikon fan! :$

If that's the case, don't worry... with eyesight like that it'll never see the sparrowhawk! :giggle:;)
