We had 7 eggs, 5 of which hatched. Two died, and over this last weekend a further two died, leaving just one. We did watch her frantically trying to remove a body which was quite distressing. We haven't seen the male for quite a while so wonder if he has been caught by a predator, leaving the female alone to feed them. If there is a food shortage, then this may help explain it.
The remaining chick looks healthy and is being fed well. I have predicted fledging on 2 June, based on a typical 21 day growth time.
