Hi, I'm asking this here because I"m sure some forum members must use binoculars at times, has anyone any experience of Canon IS binoculars, I sold the last pair of standard ones I owned some time ago because as I got more and more shaky in my old age I found that they were impossible to use
however I do miss them, any opinions would be welcome.

Cheers Bob.

I'm very impressed with the 10x30 IS MkII's that I got my nearest and dearest however the 8x25 IS that I tried first were very average......I can't vouch for higher magnification offerings.

I really like them I have the 12/36 and the 10/30 I like the 12 /36 best for birding I would always go for an IS pair, they may not be quite as clear as top of the range bins but the IS imo makes up for that .

Thank you Bob & Rob it was the 10x30s I was thinking about, the last ones I had were 10x40 and I found this magnification about right for me, the 10x42s would be nice but they are out of my price range.
thank you both for your help.

Bob

Another advocate of the Canon bins, we have 2 pairs, 10x30 which are 7-8 yrs old and have been to many corners of the earth.....6 continents!!...and boy do they show it, but they work perfectly.

I've just bought the new 12x36 mk3 and optically they are excellent, although as has been said, there are others which have more snob value especially amongst birders, but for me the IS much more makes up for that.

So I'd have no hesitation in recommending them.

H i all,
Quick update, I purchased the 10x30 this morning at LCE in the Strand and having just used them on the birds in the stand of trees at the back of my flat I am very impressed
thank you once again, to all who responded.

Bob.

Glad you're happy, Bob,.......is it the mark 2 you've got?

I assume so, and on confirmation, I have a quick question for you!

George
