Well, if he isn't dead, I'm sure al jazeera will have a photo of him tomorrow. holding a paper with news of his death on it?

And I would imagine, that whilst capturing him alive would have been nice, he is not the sort of person to go quietly, so probably left the armed forces involved a choice of Kill or Be Killed.

I just think the whole religious extremism/terrorist lot childish and immature. I mean, it's not a thread on Backup Wedding kit now is it?

I believe the reason he was buried at sea was not to upset the Islamic world, They have to be buried at sea within 24 hours, apparently. Don't think they'd want to upset billions that are part of the religion.

They most probably did take photo's along with the DNA samples etc, but have chosen not to release those photo's yet.

Taking him alive was suposedly not possible, he first hid behind a female (who ended up dead too) then threatened to shoot the US troops, much safer for those involved just to shoot him there and then, rather than risk him shooting troops and possibly getting away. Yes those affected may have preferred to see him stand trial but the end result would have been the same, he'd have been sentenced to death for his crimes. Better that he's killed straight away, reduce risks of those who want to free/kill him

I'm sure there are, and it's also being discussed on shooting forums (only viewable by members) that have a lot of military and special forces members. The general consensus is that the U.S. weren't even there, and that it was a SSG (Pakistani special forces) op). But I don't know the truth.

Sorry but you are completely misinformed. According to Islamic teachings, the highest honor to be bestowed on the dead is giving the deceased a swift burial, preferably before sunset. Those who die while traveling at sea can have their bodies committed to the bottom of the ocean if they are far off the coast, according to Islamic tradition.

They have not actually given him an islamic burial. In fact they did the opposite. This i think was a big mistake as it will just fuel the consipiracy theorists with more ammo :)

Burying at sea is quite unusual within Islam, but the disposal within 24 hours is cultural.

I too am rather saddened that America's "tramps" are taking such public delight in the death of an enemy. It's the sort of crude, primitive behaviour you'd expect of brainwashed and ill-educated fundamentalists ...
