Bilora box camera question

Does/has anyone own one of these? They are old box cameras with a fixed lens, single shutter speed and two apertures. I found one recently and wanted to try it out but can't work out how to make sure I've rolled the film on enough (or not too much) after an exposure. Is it just a case of guesstimate or is there an art to it?

I don't really want to roll a film through it in one go and waste it!

There should be a small red window on the back of the camera where you can see the exposure number on the film backing paper.
I don't know that particular model but most box cameras are operated in the same way.
