I'm looking to buy a Billingham Shoulder Bag for travel.

Need to hold a 5d Mk III Body with 2-3 lenses (being 17-40L, 70-300 DO and 100mm 2.8L)

There is so much choice and I'm confused as to the best option.

I read somewhere that bilingham have some straps to attach a tripod. Is it standard on all bags or an option on certain models

Would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations

Thanks

Cannot help you find the best option as Billingham have so many bags to choose from. I've a Hadley pro (the one with the handle on the top). It is an excellent bag but I don't think it will hold all your kit. I get a 5D2 with 50mm, 100/2.8 and a 24/1.4 in it but your kit seems bigger. I also had a 335 which looks roomy but isn't. I would guess your stuff would all fit although there will be other options in the Billingham range I'm sure. The padding is so thick i find that you need a bigger bag than expected. And their dimensions are so odd that stuff doesn't fit when you think it should. Best to try out on store if you get the chance.

Anyone with experience of the 307? I have the same problem and I believe from the literature that this kit would fit comfortably...

I have shortlisted the 335 from having looked online. It seems quite big - maybe bigger than I want.

Wonder where I can find a decent range to check in store

the search continues :-)

Used to have a 335 but it's very heavy when you load it up.

I'm using a hadley pro now which is use to carry my D700, 24-70, 85mm, 35mm, sb800 and some bits and pieces.

Very true - Billys are heavy to start with and so if you stuff them they weigh a tonne. I don't think they are the most comfortable bags either. Make sure you get the wide shoulder pad.

The height dimension was always my problem - I struggled to find one where I could carry a 70-200 zoom mounted on a body. You haven't mentioned having one of those but bear it in mind if you are thinking of getting one.

Hi

I have the 335 and it comfortably fits a D3 with 24-70 attached, a couple of extra lenses, flash and bits and pieces. It does all get very heavy though. Great build and looks very classy.

When I was looking then Jessops in Oxford St (maybe New Oxford St) had a good range as did Selfridges.

Cheers

I had a Billingham 335 which was a beautiful bag, loved it. I sold it in the end because it became too heavy to carry comfortably over one shoulder for extended periods. I used the compartments as intended by the manufacturer and filled it to capacity but it was too heavy for my preference. I bought a Lowepro backpack to replace it and not looked back. Purely on aesthetics the Billingham was ace, but it stopped there for me.

It's worth noting that Billinghams customer care/service is first class. My bag was way out of warranty when I noticed the stitching unraveling on one of the leather corners by one of the feet and on a strap. I contacted them, sent the bag to them and it was repaired extremely quickly FOC.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

It seems the consensus is that 335 may be rather bulky and heavy which is precisely what I'm trying to avoid. i have my backpack for that

As Edmund suggested, I might give Hadley Pro a go - seems like I may be able to fit my gear in there

Got the Hadley Pro today from Fotosense in Bolton

Pleased to say that I've easily managed to fit in my gear

5D Mk iii Body, 17-40L, 70-300 DO, 100 2.8L & 40mm and theres still some space for me to squeeze in a flash if I want to
