Billingham Hadley Pro

Very nice bag. Got the same one from here to fit my x-t1 and lenses and it is just perfect. Used to own the 335 for my Nikon kit and that again is just lovely

Smaller than I imagined so if your looking for a walk around bag look no further. If you want a carry everything then this is definitely not the one for you.

I was looking for a walk around so this is perfect for me.

Use one for my carry on bag when flying. Takes my X E1 with 18-55 lens, ipad, Kindle, iPod and other essentials. A great bag and not too bulky.

Nice bag! I've got a Billingham laptop sleeve and it's extremely well made.

The only other bags I've seen that are of better quality are the Ona ones.

Yea I wanted an Ona but at 500 pounds here in Sweden it's a bit much for a bag haha

No question though the build looks absolutely stunning on those Ona bags. One day when I have the money I'll get one :)

My Hadley Pro is nearly always with me.....it is my go-to bag. If I'm up to more stuff I bring the 555 which superb as well, or even with the inserts taken out as an overnight bag :)

Do you reckon you could get headphones in there as well?

I'm looking for a bag to take my X-Pro 1 c/w 35mm, 18mm & 60mm lenses. Then when I travel, need to add a Kindle, iPad (mk1), usual travel documents and my Bose QC15s in their case. I love the quality of the Billinghams, but they're not cheap so need to be sure....

I may take all my stuff to a shop & try to fit it all in, but it's always good to get a "real-world" view of something.

Another fan of the Billingham Hadley Pro here :)

I used to have a 335 Billie, before downsizing to the Fuji kit, and the Hadley Pro is perfect.

Ah DAMN!!!! I just looked at these and have now fallen in love with the Brixton in the Antique Cognac Leather!!!! Time to sell a kidney.. :runaway:

Shouldn't be a problem, even though they are huge headphones.

I can easily get my MacBook Air, iPad, chargers. Olympus e-p5, Panasonic G6, 35-100, 17mm, 12mm, extra batteries, cloths in there.

It is a little tardis.

All of that into a Hadley Pro? Those front pockets must be bulging with that amount of stuff...!

:ty: Ta - and most of all for saving me an extra £200.....

Although I'm not sure I'd use the word "huge" to describe the QC15s. the case is 220 x 200 x 65mm.

I've got a black one and it's basically my everyday handbag. I also use it to carry a camera from time to time...

This and my coat of many pockets I can carry most things.
A lot depends on how you pack the bag, I can't really see you having a problem although the idea of trying it in the shop if available should answer all your questions.
For me it's a good size that doesn't draw attention.

No not really. It depends on how you pack it. There is a lot of height in the back. Chargers flat at the bottom, lenses next layer next to each other, and camera's with a lens attached on top. macbook and iPad go in the pouch at the back....

Best thing to do is go to the store and check it out. It's smaller than you would think especially as labelled as the "Pro". The "Small" is basically a one body/lens bag and this is a couple of small lens and one body (minus grip). If it's small format cameras you will be absolutely fine.

The rear laptop slot is not padded at the back, aligning with the outer zip pocket. However the front inner par with the little flap over it should be padded and have that soft stuff that the velcro inserts easily attach to. Then the outer two pockets aren't padded, and aren't lined like the laptop slot is...Hope that helps...

Looking at your photos....The fourth one from the top that shows the flap and the inserts....The divider seems to be made of two types of material as it shows some stitching. I've just looked at mine, and mine is just even single material...Are none of the inserts padded at all and not the divider with the laptop area?

As an alternative for anyone looking for a high-end bad, the ONA bags are beautiful and a little less camera bag like than the Billingham's.

what's the next size up from the hadley pro- is there a messenger style billingham to take a body with grip and some lenses, or preferably 2 bodies with lenses attached

The lining is firm, but I wouldn't describe it as padded. Only the insert would really count as padded.

Billingham tend to have excellent QC so I'd be surprised if a bag managed to go that wrong when put on sale...

Yea I agree. Amazon have said it's genuine and it's definitely a real one. I'll call Billingham Monday and see what the deal is.

Here is mine. I thought the Hadley Pro was the last bag I would ever buy, but looking at those ONA ones I am now not so sure - thanks all :) The two inserts do look different.

Glad you saw it, I rarely upload images from flickr here and seem to have messed up yet again. Did you get it from Amazon Marketplace? Maybe some delboy returned the exterior with a cheap insert.

Yea I got it from Amazon and they assured me it's a genuine unit. Sounds like something fishy has gone on. The thing is it's an exact fit including a pop button exactly as all the others. I hope Billingham get back to me otherwise I'll send the unit back to amazon. Far too much money to be taking an incomplete order.

Wait, that picture posted is of the inside part of the insert, right?

Is this your insert that is not padded like that, or is it the bare bag with insert removed?

You can see the OP's inside in his fourth photo from the top on his website...it isn't a bare bag...there is something there but it doesn't look 100% right. Only thing is, Billingham does make changes over time...however if it isn't soft then it isn't right...

That all depends on what bodies and lenses you have...I mainly use m43 when out and about, and the Hadley pro is fine for two bodies and several lenses.....If I take my medium format I'll take the Billingham 555 which is also great....So it all depends on what you've got, plenty of models in the range...

Ah, I see now. It's difficult to tell because the photos were taken with "arty review" in mind

Your insert looks like it has horizontal rows of velcro attachment, which the normal Billingham insert doesn't have - it's just a lined material like this:

The divider also looks like it is a different material.
Thanks for the link, I'm pretty much 99% sure I have the wrong divider sent. I'll get a refund rather than mess around with amazon. Thanks very much everyone :)

As soon as the refund clears I'll buy another though. Great bag!
