Well having passed my DAS I've been looking at bikes.

I've gone and got this....

very nice, and at risk of sounding extremely girly.... I love the colour!

What's not to like - it is a HONDA!!

Unfortunately I'm old enough to remember the TV adverts that Twiggy did late 70s with the catchline "You meet the nicest people on Hondas"

Never been able to take them seriously since then :p

(nothing against your bike Wyvern , you must just be very nice  )

Thanks all,

I've been taking it really easy the last couple of days (because it's been raining a lot :( ) and will be for quite a while it seems :'(

I got fairly lucky with the bike though, it's a 2007 Hornet, it is an ex-demo with 70 miles on the clock (125 odd now) came with the flyscreen and rear seat cowl, and cost £600 less than the new bike would have.

I'm getting a rear hugger fitted next week, and crash mushrooms this week (mainly because they forgot to get them put on the order despite me asking for them).

The alarm will unfortunately have to wait a month or so because I can't afford it.
(not that the alarm is essential, I have got the biggest and heaviest chain & disclock combination going)

It runs like a dream, is comfy to ride nicely balanced and pulls like a train (though I've not taken it over 6000 revs because it's not yet had it's first service and the engine isn't broken in).

Congrats on the new bike.... You'll not go wrong on the Honda. The crash 'shrooms are a good idea (although I've none fitted:shrug: ) as my friends GSXR will attest to after he came a cropper, saved the main bits and only had to pay for ancilliaries.
Best advice I can give you is drive to your own limitations and look, look and look again. Other drivers will not see you.... You have to see them. Having said that enjoy yourself. :)
