BIG Panorama printing - any recommendations?

Just PP'ing a 22 image stitched panorama of the view from my parents' villa in Spain and would love to get it printed, trouble is it's currently approx 560cm x 50cm!! (& 750Mb!)

The wall in my conservatory isn't long enough to take a 560cm long print, but will quite easily manage 350cm to 400cm, so I will have to re-size in PS.

Can anyone recommend a good printing company that will be able to print this for me? Also, any recommendations on how to best mount it - would it suit acrylic or should I look at a wooden frame with border?

Lastly, any ideas on how much this might cost? Don't mind spending fairly good money (say up to £200-300, less if possible) but not really wanting to spend fortunes.

I'd be tempted to give togsprint a call. I think they use large format printers with roll feed paper so the length is only limited to that of the roll and I'm pretty sure they'd be able to help you out with a custom job.

Then you've just got to worry about framing it;)

any comments on how to best frame it?

also, any recommendations on framers? my DIY skills aren't too good!!

There will be a local framing company to you somewhere. I have two in my town and it's only small.

Support a local business.
 
Try a local sign printing co. THe large format printers they use to do photo adverts, wraps round vehicles etc. are ideal and they may well work out pretty cheap.

I haven't used them but they look great and very VERY well priced too compared to others. You can enter whatever size you want for printing.

What did you use to stitch the pics together? I've been trying to collage mine into a panoramic with picassa but without the best results....
 
CS5 is doing the stitching for me. If you haven't got PS, then there are some good free applications that people rate on here - just do a search for 'panorama' and you'll find a few threads

Resurecting this thread as I have a similar query. I have a couple of stitched panoramas that I'd like to get printed and framed. Can't find anyone online (including the above links) that will do a 180cm x 40cm print.

Open to any suggestions/recommendations....

Have you looked at whitewall? In the end I didn't print off this panorama, but have printed 3 others at approx 50" x 25" but Whitewall will print larger. Quality is fantastic and pricing is very reasonable. I had mine mounted on the aluminium backing/dibond option and couldn't be happier with it.
 
Thanks for that Dan. That firm looks very promising. I did establish that DSCL (who I have used before) will actually print bespoke sizes on request. I do like the look of those aluminium mounts though...

I honestly couldn't recommend them strong enough. I'm off to San Francisco and Yosemite next month and fully expect to be sending some images to them for large prints on my return!
 
I take it that you went with the original print on aluminium as opposed to the slightly cheaper print directly on aluminium?
 
I've used Mybigposter a couple of times with no problems, quick, quality OK and you basically pay for the length.
 
Im so glad I came across this thread!! have been searching for ages for someone that does a decent large scale panoramic that is not canvas and resonably priced!! will be giving www.posterxxl.co.uk a try methinks!

Yep, original print mounted onto aluminium. Go for the best quality paper you can afford (I recommend Matt finish for landscapes)

A3+ printer will do 48.3cm wide
 
I've had 24" wide panoramas done and I'm pretty sure the same place could do 24" tall ones as well. Possibly not cheap though! Mine are on straight glossy paper rather than canvas/aluminium etc. That was on the High Street here in Exeter so possibly not much help to the OP, although they may well have a similar shop in their vicinity.
