Big fat Canon in eye clinic

Was at the eye clinic this afternoon with the missus, and they did all manner of tests on her eyes. I started to get a little bored after a little while, but a machine sparked my interest. My missus had to put her head into a frame, and look into something, a lens maybe. At the other end of the machine was a big fat DSLR, I noticed on the whole contraption were the words Canon. I had another look at the DSLR and it was a Canon, and a big fat one. I was bored all over again, but the tests were soon over.

Not that I dislike Canon, just that I know more about Nikon bodies :rolleyes:
 
I did some work in a posh opticians a few weeks ago. They proudly showed me their shiny machine that goes ping which they wanted featuring pretty prominently. It had a D5100 screwed to the back. I bet they paid more for it than I did for mine ;)
 
My daughter is an Optometrist and the camera (D7000 I think) at her practice has dust bunnies, makes it bit of a challenge to work out what is sensor dirt or a possible eye defect.

Think she is the only one there who is into photography and the others don't really understand or recognise the problem.

I did suggest mapping out the bunnies, but she rightly said that a defect could be at that very spot and would therefore go unnoticed

No idea what body it was, but it looked really big and fat. Would not fancy carting that and lens about. He pressed a switch on the machine and the DSLR took the images, pretty noisy it was too.
 
Wonder how the lens contraption works on such a machine? There was a good distance from where my missus had to place her eyes to where the DSLR was. A good few feet or more :thinking:
