Bicycle frames

I've just bagged a couple of Muddy Fox full suspension bikes with dual disc brakes from Tesco Direct. £250 down to £125, Ordered Friday night delivered Monday lunch time. Good value, not in the pro league by any streach of the imagination but suits my purposes.

Did you have to put them together yourself, or did it come already assembled?

cheap funky suspension bikes = horrid springy heavy mess
expensive funky suspension bikes = lighter controlled love on wheels

what's the budget?

Before you go full suspension can I remind you of the above, it really is true!:rules:

I've looked on the Tesco website and you can't even specify the frame size you want, you could end up with a horrid springy heavy mess that saps all of your energy and on top of that it may be too big for you. A sure way to be put off getting the bike out for a ride.

PS Evans cycles are having a clearance sale...;)

I have to re-iterate what has been said about cheap ful suspension bikes. I had one years ago before I got a bit more into it and it was really hard to ride. THey are generally very heavy for one, much heavier than one with only front suspension. Also much more of the energy you put into cycling is lost in the rear suspension travel - next time you see someone cycling on a cheap one look how much the rear setup moves - the energy you put into compressing that spring/damper would be much better spend propelling you forwards!

Its okay I didn't buy one. I'm going to go to streetlife today after my uni lectures :)

I've got cable disc brakes and they are as powerful as my set of hydraulics!

Mind you they are Avid SD5's ;)

It is quite funny how many of us are over here from Singletrackworld.
