Is this company OK to order from?

They're doing the BG-E5 battery grip for £91.99 delivered... Best price I can find.

Does anyone know of anywhere cheaper?

I have used 7dayshop.com many times, there delivery isn't the fastest but prices are usually great.

I'm in no hurry, but how long do you reckon it'd take to come? Would it be sent via courier? It'd be annoying if it got lost in the post... Amazon is only £5 (or so) more expensive. Who would you go with?

Used them a few times. Never a problem. Go for it:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

They are based in Guernsey or Jersey - anything under £18 is exempt of import duyt, anything above £18 may incur additonal charges (i'd be tempted to use amazon and be sure what you are paying). I've ordered bundles of film from 7dayshop in the £30-45 range and never paid anything, but i do have delivery to my works address so perhaps i just don't see the requests ;)

Nope, prices include VAT where applicable. From there website:

9. VAT

• If the delivery address for your order is in the United Kingdom, all prices shown are FULLY INCLUSIVE of UK VAT where applicable and all goods are in FREE CIRCULATION within the EU. No further duties or taxes are payable upon receipt of your order.
• For all deliveries which are made outside of the UK, you may be asked to pay Sales Tax at the correct rate for your delivery country. This may be charged on top of the price paid to us, and is collected by your Post Office when your goods are delivered.
• We cannot discount any of our prices for whatever reason but would like you to note that all items in our catalogue with an intrinsic value of under £18 are exempt from any Sales Tax (VAT).

I have used them many times the £18 limit is VAT any items over £18 are VAT Paid. Go for it :thumbs::thumbs:

It's not UK based? Will it be a UK product and so on? Is there any hidden charges? The previous poster has got me worried.

Excellent site used them lots of imes and never had a problem

Iv'e used 7dayshop.com loads of times over the last 5 years and not had 1 ounce of trouble with them. On the odd occasion an item has been faulty, they exchanged it no questions asked. I have found it exceptional value for money!!

I have a photographic memory that was never developed:thumbs:

Apologies if i've led anyone astray. Like i said i've placed orders above and below £18 in value and not had an issue. However, my warning was based on reading some older threads on another forum where people had been asked to pay extra on delivery by Royal Mail. Whether this was correct i can't confirm, but at the time i thought it worthy of mention given the small difference in price. I've also know of a person who had problems returning a faulty lens to 7dayshop, but thats not to say the same difficulties wouldn't be experienced with any other online retailer.

Fortunatley for me my local camera shop seems keen to match or get close enough to internet prices that i dn't have to buy equipment online.

I have used 7dayshop a lot in the last month. Nice cheap prices, not superfast delivery, but always comes well packaged. I'm happy.

have you considered the alternative photix grip from ebay (HK seller) i got one of these for about 40 quid after being recommended by others here, have been very impressed, some deals even com with spare batteries, worth a look!

cheers

Used them many times for memory/batteries etc with no prob , however I bought a Sigma 100-300f4 from them last year and when I attempted to register it for warranty it was KB"d as Sigma Uk said it was not imported through them.
Returned it for a full refund.

Their prices are great but I have been unlucky with them, had an item not arrive and a couple of items out of stock with non expected back in which I only found out by contacting them, I've waited weeks and now I'm gonna have to pay more for it elsewhere. I managed to find their phone number but it's an answer machine saying they dont except calls so you have to email them, very frustrating setup. I've read all their camera gear are grey imports, don't know the implications of that so can't comment.

I will use them again but only for their own brand cheapie items that they have lots of stock of

I'd sooner pay a bit more and get the Canon grip. I just feel a bit tacky buying cheap HK gear.

Cheers for your advice guys. I'll order the BG-E5 tonight. :)

My Phottix 30D Grip felt better quality than my genuine Canon 300D grip
