BF3 - Who plays it?

Since the last update and so older post is no longer valid. i love it cant get of it which is causing a few issues with the wife lol.

Played it on Xbox on our 50" inch TV looks just as good to me as my pc which I play on and that aint no slouch.

I cant play with the controller to save my life give me a keyboard and a razer mouse any day.

Ill pop in and and have a look at the op servers.

I tend to get on better with a mouse, but controllers are not exactly bad at aiming, they are just different. Takes getting used to.

I started FPS with a mouse, and so I feel more comfortable using one. So far my longest headshot is 1160m. Up to 1000m isn't difficult, but >1000m it becomes harder to find people.
 
I play it on PS3 when time allows, I'm not the best but I quite enjoy it. Used to love playing Engineer but since the patch mines are almost useless and the vehicles are now too hard to take out. So now normally play Assault running around with the famas.

Thought about getting it on PC but I'd rather be sat downstairs with it on the TV than couped up in my office (where I spend too much time anyway!) playing it on the PC.

between this on the 360 and team fortress 2 of the pc i have no room for any other shooters!

Started as recon, but now switched to support. Ranking up is miles quicker! Next unlock is mortars! cool.

I used to play nothing but the cod games (still play cod4:mw now and again), but the variety of ways to play bf3 makes it a much more satisfying experience.
 
I got this for Christmas so I'm slowly trying to get into it, used to only play the COD games but the multiplayer on the latest is a lot harder than it used to be!

What is BF3 like for multiplayer? I'm a pretty competent gamer but since I'm really struggling to get into COD MW3 I want to try this as the online aspect is the best bit for me :)

When I started playing BF2 I maxed out Recon then did everything else which seemed to take a long time!!!

I got BF3 the day of release but only get 30-60 mins here and there to play it so progress has been a bit slow but I've tried to use each class fairly evenly.

I think I've unlocked all the equipment (Mortars, SOFLAM, Javelin etc) across all classes to now it's just the guns, sights etc and I'm not far from Rank 18 (or 19.... can't remember now).

The main thing is I just really enjoy playing it and where possible try and use the best class for the situation/map, although I find it very difficult not to be a sniper on Operation Firestorm and hide in the hills...... 423M headshot was awesome! :lol: :D

Shoot from one hill to the other, plenty of other recon laying nice and still, I got a new best of 1266m headshot this week.

didnt bother with the latest cod but got this for xmas and loving the mp wouldnt say i was very good but preferring this to cod, missus even got me the novel to go with it !!

the MP is awesome. Once you get the hang of it (I still try and knife kill with R3!!!!), it's way ahead of MW in terms of involvement
 
finally sorted my reg code out and am now online! Woop Woop. Loving the multiplayer and eyefinity!

Have been playing since bf1942 and all expansion packs on pc and the amazing desert combat mod (loved lost village) to me the battlefield series is the only online fps multiplayer worthy of my time.....my name online is tozey lets go to war!

Bf3 is missing a lot of features that showed up in earlier versions on the pc, I can only imagine this is due to catering for the consoles. Dont get me wrong the game is as good as ever on all platforms but it used to have features that I miss (bail out) lol

Personally, now the server side issues are ironed out, I love it. The game is so immersive and definately has a good 'Play it my way' flavour to it. So many different playstyles depending on you mood and the map.

I play on PC and the 64 player battles are something to behold. I play a lot of hardcore mode now, it's even more realistic but not overly so.

I'm co founder of a fairly large gaming community, if you fancy getting on a well run pc server look up 'Noobs like to party!' and join the one that isn't german (We got copycats!)

edit one of the ones. We currently have 5 online! catering for most game modes

I hate with a Passion the cinematic sequences where half way through you push o or x or r1. A complete.waste if time and adds nothing by me interacting. The maps were limited, only a few good levels.

Had one multiplayer match and loved it and looking forward to more. Been playing the bf series since 2142 on the pc and since 1943 and bad company on the ps3.

What's in the expansion pack?

lets face it, no one really buys these games for the single player, and I concur....it's *****, but so is MW3's....got bored after the first level, it's just the same old story.

The campaign is buggy as well, playing on hard difficulty I keep hitting a glitch where my health never recovers, even when I die I respawn with the blood splattered screen of near death (which on hard means one bullet will kill you). The only way to get rid of it is to start the whole mission from scratch.

It's a shame they seemed to try to make the campaign more like COD, I loved bad company because it had a much more open style. The campaign never utilises the superb destruction physics or freedom that BF is so good at.

Still, the multiplayer makes up for it superbly (though I really really wish they had made hardcore mode properly low health, I much prefer COD's style of 1, 2 or 3 bullet kills max in that department. It just rankles with me to have to shoot people 4 times at close quarters with a pistol to kill them, on the hardcore mode that is specifically there to be the high damage mode :gag: And since BF has good bullet physics, they could easily keep it balanced by limiting the guns more in range rather than power)
