As a paranoid person, I will never buy anything over windows machine. I will load linux or trust my mac, and will use a different web browser to my normal day to day browsing. It is quite paranoid, but it really works.
you're being paranoid without any understanding of the issue. If you had followed the same link as the op, no matter the OS or browser used, the result would have been the same.
well I can't see the link, but it was obviously one to ebuyer.com (a safe and trusty site I've used many times), unless somebody posted a dodgy link up there :shake: or OP's PC was infected to take him elsewhere.

No, it wasn't a link to EBuyer despite the OP indicating that it was. And that was the problem. People using the link, thinking it was EBuyer, and having their payment details sucked out of them. As I have said, no amount of anti-virus/malware apps or paranoia will protect you against this.

As we move on in the IT world the experience grows. I keep my guarx up.
Dodgy webdites abound and my internet secutiyh pavkage chevks every web site and warns IF it is suspicious or contains malware etc It then blocks access till I decide that I aant to ihnotre it. I have been online in one form or another dince my 2,400 bps modem I used in the early 80s on an Open University voufse.
from this thread here this is the only place in the last few weeks I have used this card and today on my internet banking I have no funds in there.
How old is the card and has it been used before?
It could have been cloned at any time, anywhere it's been used, online or in person.
I'd be amazed if Ebuyer were the culprits, without doubt they'd have a secure checkout in place so unlikely anyone could see your card details.
Does your card ask you to go through any secure verification process once you get to the checkout?
Verified by Visa or similar?
Other than that, you could have a rogue keylogger installed.![]()
Hi Guys sorry for the long wait, I was scammed, but nothing to do with Ebuyer. That was the only plce the card had been used in weeks but then again I have used it previously so maybe they just waited a while:shrug:
All sorted now![]()

Anything I buy via the internet I pay for via Paypal and never have lost money by this method. Did once buy an article on e-bay that in actual fact never existed but PayPay sorted it and I got my money back. So from personal experience PayPal deserves 10 out of 10 for looking after their subscribers.
