BEWARE PAYPAL NEW RULES.

I'm half considering going for cash on collection only, but this worries me a little in case the buyer turns up and tried to haggle you down further.

I think cash on collection limits you, and you'd probably end up with less than if you were paid by Paypal. Unless you have a local buyer.

sadly you have to allow paypal as a payment method.


the last item i sold i advertised as collection only and everybody just PMed me about postage so i ended up offering postage and i dont think id have got any bids otherwise.

I suppose you could say..well I'll post, but you need to pay by cheque or BT if I agree to post?

I also have a "blackhole" paypal address which can't accept payments if someone still tries to Paypal me.
 
I've offered postage or collection, but payment through Paypal only. I need rid of the Oly and bits, so this had to be the way.
 
Allowing collection via Paypal leaves you open to someone scamming you.

They say they never got it, Paypal ask for trackable Proof of Postage, you can't provide it, so they get your goods and their money back!
 
Looks like you caused the problem, as eBay thought you were trying a scam. If you work outside the rules they seem to get upset! (Paypal are eBay)
 
Well I got stung by this freaking paypal nonsense. My E-420 AND my flashgun both went, and now I'm sat with my thumb up my arse waiting for the buyers to leave feedback, and then I get to wait 3-5 days while Paypal sort the transfer to my bank account out. What a load of rubbish. With these stupid new rules, it's quite possible that I'll have to wait for nearly a month before I see the money, even though the camera was deliverd and signed for today, and the flash will be delivered tomorrow. Paypal are robbing *****. I'm actually our of pocket now having forked out for postage, which on both items was less than I charged anyway!
 
well to close this thread (if mod is passing) all well that ends well, payment cleared, items received. lesson learnt. thanks for all intrest in this thread
