this is not a scam and just paypals way of making sure people are not scammed

have a read of some of the forums on paypal about their so called protection. just having some fun - but the tips work...
pm me if you get really stuck - brought and sold a lot on ebay - not lost any money yet - other then fees...

TBH that is what prompted my thread but unlike you Joe I did not dare quote it![]()
Well it cant have been that actual post - look at the time difference...![]()

woooohhhh, NO.
how on earth can a flag be made if someone "buys it now"
what i do after that i my business.
what im saying is how can they hold money after a "buy it now" has been agreed and then still hold money.
if i was to sell you something for £10 and you agreed, then the middle man said i will hold the money untill you are happy with that item we would be here all day.
if you "buy it now" then sure you have read the description, considered the cost, weight it up to everything else thats on offer, and click the button...
to end this all im saying is if you do buy anything from an auction site BEWARE they will hold money hold money untill both people are happy with what they have got.
but it was a private transaction as a gift
More fool you then because Paypal Gift doesn't cover any e-Bay transactions and the item certainly isn't covered by their insurance. :rules: If it arrives damaged, what will you do then?

Rubbish!! it is paypals way of keeping your money in their accounts for s long as possible for obvious reasons.
Paypal will use any excuse to withhold funds, they have done it to me before, withholding a few hundred pounds for over a month because of a mistake made by the other party.
Do you think paypal are bothered if buyers are scammed. They make their money not just from the thieving fees they are charging but also because at any one time they have millions of pounds in their accounts, not their money no, but it will be generating interest for them all the same.
Paypal protecting their ebay customers, that's a laughhave a read of some of the forums on paypal about their so called protection.
They are the ones doing the scamming!!
Edit,or should I have said Skimming
I would certainly be asking PayPal what interest rate I can expect on the funds they are holding for up to 3 weeks. Unless they are paying interest then it's very hard to look at this as anything other than an exercise in skimming extra profit. The mafia would be proud of it![]()

Now that i can understand, but i dont fall under those rules

you cant get your payment from paypal because of these new rules
Payment Review has been completed and a temporary hold has been placed on this transaction.
Please post the item right away. We'll release the funds when one of the following occurs:
you receive positive feedback from the buyer
it's been 21 days since the payment date and you haven't received a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal on the transaction being held .
SO ive just sold my siggy 10-20mm to a total stranger and he has sent payment to my paypal account and the money wont be released untill he leaves feedback, SO what if he goes on holiday and decides to leave feedback after his 2 week trip, 2 weeks ive got to wait for the money (worst case) and what happens if he damages the lens, then i get poor feed back and a knacked lens and no money, if i had know this i would have asked for bankers draft/postal order.:thumbsdown:
BEWARE.......
it tends to be for new sellers or those with bad feedback sending pricey items. i fell foul of it last week with an item and personally i think its ****, im supposed to post an item which i havent recieved any money for yet (how i pay for this postage i dont know!) and then hope they give me good feedback...
oh and suprisesuprise the money doesnt transfer instantly once you get positive feedback.
i can understand what they are trying to do, but its not really fair on sellers and as a system doesnt work properly
Pay Pal are crap wouldnt help me when i got ripped off for £30 for some heli parts by chinkies
Could you not get round this Paypal BS by asking a buyer to send it through Paypal independantly to your email address, as a gift etc?
