100 posts up, so really time to say "hi" to all for the help so far......

started taking B&W in mid 1950s, camera had a leathercase with drop-down front - an Agfa? Lots of shots in London - sadly never stored away.
Someone posted the same sentiment recently - now they can be digitalised forever. Did a bit of developing in the 60s, got married and cameras became just a tool for holidays: moving eventually to 35mm Kodachrome with a Canon A1 with 50mm prime and 135mm zoom - still a worthy camera after 30years - and still in my possession plus 28mm and 70-210mm

My hobby for 50 years has been freshwater tropical fish - recently joined a forum which had some superb macro shots, and I decided to step-up from a digital P&S to a "proper" DSLR

which is how I arrived here - got a Nikon D40 and been adding lens and kit [from here]. All I need do now is move into the 21st century........:D

Hi  and :welcome: to TP.

If anything, the D40 is very much a 21C camera. I love mine, been using it since late 2007 and loving it .. its' lasted, in my kit bag, longer than my D200, D300, even my D2Xs!

Hi John, seasons greetings & welcome to the forum
