Is it just my imagination or is TP simply a brilliant friendly site, I am a member of the (supposedly) biggest nikon site in the world and nobody will even speak to you, I am also a member of smaller groups and one in particular that I will not mention the name, Has members that not only criticise you for weeks but ridicule you in the public eye yet the people there seem to agree with the long standing members who appear to just bully their way through the site yet never really put any posts up but only take the wee out of others...... TP however if a mixed bunch that truly do give the best advice and its not always the advice you want but it is the best and honest advice we all need and whats more, even in a serious thread someone will come in with a witty comment or joke and its seen as that and never taken the wrong way.
So really TP is the best forum and should be supported to the max I for one will be using the paypal donate button.

Oh and one last rant... The mods and admin are also superb (yes I have been rollocked when I was new here and didnt know the rules) but the rules are there to be followed with no exceptions even *** the mods do bend em slightly if there is cause for it

So well done TP and whats everyone elses view on tp as I love it:thumbs:
 
I've got to agree, without doubt the friendliest and most helpfull I've been on. I registered here back in December, but then went wandering around some others. I ended up sticking my nose in back here, stayed around for a day or two and now I'm hooked. :thumbs:
 
never been on any others so cant comment but this place is very friendly as long as you can take some Critique for pics :lol:

its made me better for it
 
I think it's because this is mostly a british site? A couple of the others tend to be more US based and I find some of the comments 'interesting'. They certainly seem to rate equipment based on cost.

The comments to photos submitted and they standard of photo's on here are exceptional which has really helped to improve my photography.
 
I couldn't agree more! This has to be the best forum on 'tinterweb :D I've never felt the need to even look at any others :nono:
 
the US ones are so $$$ oriented!
and on another note.....ahhh the good ol' English sarcasims...man seriously there must be an art to finding so many ways of answering questions with questions and pulling of sarcasim as well as the Brits do :) (oops in this case the Scots) hehehe.
 
I get ribbed now and again for spelling and grammar but sod it the majority are fine towards me.

Yes, this is a nice friendly forum. I had some issues with the old non-photographic forum I always used to use and the mods were so unhelpful. When I've been in touch with the mods here they've been helpful and friendly. That what really helps a forum, decent mods. :)
 
It's a great place to be. It's the first forum in ages that I've been able to post more than once or twice without hating the place.

The fact I've reached over 250 posts in very little time at all and the friendly and helpful people in here just make me want to stay!!

This place is a joke, no one comments on my pictures, unless it is to slate them, no one laughs at my jokes, no helpfull advice from anyone, mods are pain in the arse and its more clicky than a clickety click clicker, why cant it be more like Talk Photograph.............** oh Sh*t, this is TP. Sorry i though i was still logged into ***Forums:lol:

Except to say :) WTF is with the other sites and For Sale threads, is it a mentally challenging task that requires 4 Krypton factor trophies to ship anything out of the "Lower 48" :suspect:
 
:lol::lol: Quite agree with you Dino... I know a couple of forums thats exactly like that and this isnt one of them.
 
Its certainly my favourite site - I post on NikonCafe, Nikonians (occasionally) and DPReview but this is by far the best.

This is a really friendly forum, I've had a lot of help and as long as admin and the mods have a good supply of cookies they don't bite the customers - not sure what happens when the credit crunch slows the supply though :lol: :lol:

Seriously, it is a really good site. Really enjoyed it, learnt a lot, helped lots at the same time and without forums like this, we'd be a lot worse off.

I registered with another forum after a bad first experience here, I wasn't quite ready for such harsh critique as I received. I posted another pic on the other site and it went beyond harsh critique and was just damned rude. I'm a pro musician (albeit in the Corps of Army Music) and there's a lot of snobbery involved in music, and I never thought I'd see worse until I registered at the 'other site'. I left then and there. This place is much friendlier and there's enough members that if you need an answer quick you know you'll get one.

Just trying to work up the courage to post more pictures now though...
