They played today and won 48-22

ahh it would be the 19th today :P that just saved me a MEGA facepalm moment tomorrow! haha i put it down to being in work too long! only 20 mins left!! lets use that time wisely...... find a good sporting event to pap tomorrow :D

any other usefull sites anyone knows of that list multiple sports going on in the local area? if there is any cycles or anything in the outdoors?
I havnt brought one for years but u think the local paper would list these sorts of things?

thanks for the info clowesey, is there an fixtures timetable for any of the leagues posted anywhere?

Do some of your own legwork, ring the club, google for their websites, check pitch hero

That's sensible advice. Pick a few sports you're interested in, look on their websites, contact the club. You can often find clubs through the local council website.

ok gary no need to jump onto the defensive, i was just wondering if there was a fixtures list for the league to save ringing around clubs individually.

spoken to someone from thatto heath crusaders and he thinks i may have to get a CRB to take pics of even their 1st team as they have some under 18s playing for them.
Is this a normal procedure? seems a little excessive, i guess they are just warey of having people taking pictures of voulnerable age groups?
Ahh well one of many hurdles i guess.

Whoah there big boy, there was absolutly nothing defensive about my comment, you need to do your own legwork simply because we dont know who or what you want to be covering or when you want to be doing it, we can only provide you with with so much information before you need to do something yourself, seriously, do you want me to book you into a game, do you want me to actually check every single fixture list for you, heck i'll even carry your bag if you want me to.

Take it as it was meant, it was good advice and meant to be constructive, if you have already checked the BARLA website you will see there is a search function to find any club in the country, use it.

As for the CRB check, its rubbish, however theres no harm in talking to both coaches and building a relationship with the clubs, let them know your intentions, offer them some images for their website use etc, etc, scratch their backs and they will scratch yours, and if you scratch nicely parents will but prints from you.

sorry thought you were being "off" with me about asking so many questions, i by no means want anyone to do everything for me, but clowesey stated in her previous post that if i required any more info then dont be afraid to ask.

ANYWAY i have no intention of upsetting anybody or starting any form of friction. Im by no means a keyboard warrior or troll. SO

In contact with the contact from thatto heath warriors and he has passed me onto their "child welfare team"
Ill just roll with it see where we go, seems a little OTT for me but hey, it could be the first door opening up for me.

It may well be OTT and at most grounds its irrelevent if its a public field no one can stop you. Im the official photographer for clowesys league and and have been for 5 years. I still even now ask every parent before the game their "permission" even if I did them last week, I would ask this week too, May be excessive but needs to be done. If 1 said no I wouldnt do it regardless of being a league official (of sorts) and CRBd and public place. Its just manners. If one parent doesnt want there kid photographed and put online, Cant see why anyone would go against that.

OP, check the St Helens Star and the Reporter (if they turn up, not had one here for a few weeks) The football season has coem to an end, but the Summer (and I use that term loosely) season in Rugby has just started. Thatto, Brook, Haresfinch, Yick, Pilks..... there are loads of teams to pick from. Then you'll have Union starting back up soon. West Park, LSH etc.

If you are happy to go a little further away, try the websites of the league organizers. They will normally have a fixtures section.

Fixtures are generally put on the league websites a couple of weeks in advance at the most as they are always subject to change, especially when cup games are on.

That also means, for my age groups at least, then the club websites won't get updated until the beginning of the week before the game.

Since the move to summer rugby as well we are finding games being played on various other days (well evenings really) instead of just Sunday mornings.

That said, as a (very)rough guide for the NWC 13-15's - CHECK THIS You need to check individual age groups against the calendar at the bottom of the page.
