Best way to display your work?

If I wanted to start an online gallery which I could use to let others see my work which would be the best to use?

I did think about creating my own site but I lack the technical knowhow to do that. Are we talking the likes of Flickr or is there something better out there where I can customise it to look more like a personal site rather than a generic hosting site?

I used Zenfolio. I opted for my own domain name and found their prices quite reasonable. They even give you the facilities to sell your images.
They might be worth a look.

You could do a 'blogsite'. Wordpress if free - you can create slideshows and 'pages' to showcase varieties of work.

Buy some hosting space, get a domain name, download Wordpress, install a 'theme' (loads to choose from, free and paid) and off you go.

I started my first site last year with Clikpic and being new to websites found setting it up with them quite complicated. I switched to smugmug this year and it's been really easy so far. In the middle of setting it up just now but feel free to have a look to see what you would be getting with smugmug.
