Best way for child to display photos online

My daughter is ten and seemed interested in photography, so we got her a bridge camera for her birthday. She is using it a lot, and certainly had a better eye for a picture than I do!

She's at the point now where she would like to be able to share her images with the wider world. What would be the best way for her to do that with a sensible level of safety? She's not stupid and she is VERY aware of the risks of the internet, and has self-reported instances when she has stumbled across inappropriate content or behavior in the past. I'd just like to put some simple controls in place e.g. Blocking comments until she is a bit older. Also I obviously don't want to lie about her age on sign-up.
 
PS flickr was my first choice but they dont permit an account until you're 13.
 
I'm not convinced a 10-year old needs to 'share with the world' - but how about creating a free Webs website, help her learn about some basics, upload images, write some text? http://uk.webs.com/ or create a wordpress blog? That might help develop competence with writing English and thinking about what to say?
 
Webs.com is a good suggestion. I have some websites hosted there. The upload process is easy and for what you need, it will be free.

That's a good suggestion... I run a couple of sites, one of which is using wordpress, so creating another wordpress instance would be easy enough. As you say it would teach her more than just uploading images, plus wordpress has strong security options. Thanks for the heads up!
 
I use fast hosting direct, £20 for hosting and domain name a year, have my website and blog on there, plus several other websites. For simple photo sharing/storage I use Pbase, again a small charge per year but it's just for photo sharing and you can disable the comments. Easy to link images to share, easy controls to use and simple resizing options
 
Thanks. I already pay for a domain name and hosting so I'll install a wordpress site as a subdomain of that
