Best value compact Flash card

Is the 400 speed worth paying extra than 133 ?

sandisk ultra 8gb. £17 and plenty fast enough.

Don't trust your pictures to a less reliable name for the sake of a couple of quid.

Have a look on www.7dayshop.com for their range of CF cards. They usually have a good selection a decent prices. I bought my CF and SDHC cards off them and they are all Duracell cards, with a 10 year guarantee and upload speeds comparable with other makes of cards.

When I bought my first CF card for my 7D I went the cheapish route and bought a 16GB Transcend 133x. This card had problems where by about 5-10% of the images I captured turned out to be duds because the file was corrupted. As luck would have it, this turned out to happen to images which were keepers a lot of the time and this got hugely frustrating.

I bit the bullet and bought a 16GB Sandisk Extreme 60MB/s (400x I think?) and could not be happier. I have, touch wood, had no problems whatsoever.

Another case of buy once, buy right I guess!

Sandisk work for me but expensive

Transcend work for me too, less expensive and faster

Amazon

ebay is full of compact flash disc at cheap to fair prices, but i always buy named disc but favour sandisk as i know they are worth the little extra & i also go for a few smaller disc rather than one large one, a bit like dont put all your eggs in one basket

mmm...anyone buying CF/ SD from ebay is increasing their propensity to receive fake cards.

Wouldn't touch ebay or amazon market place with a barge pole for this type of thing.
