best type of lighting setup

hi all, my sister is having a baby in a few weeks time and wants a story board of images taken by myself so she has the baby growing up, it will be the first time ive done anything like this so i just want some idea on best type of lighting really and setup

kit i have is

40d
18-55
70-300
2 flash guns with remote recievers
2 shoot through umbrellas with stands
and as much time as i like without the baby getting upset

what would make the best backdrop?? id like nice high key images with plenty of colour?? that could soon change knowing my sister lol

any help would be greatful
