Been looking for a decent manfrotto tripod but the facts surrounding all the different types are confusing me a bit, anyone know from experience a good manfrotto tripod that allows portrait shooting mode and any good tripod heads to match? Looking to spend approx £150 max as i'm currently a college student and can't afford top of the range, many thanks :)

I was looking at Manfrotto 055 & 190 series a year or so ago then saw reviews for the Giottos MTL9351B... So I ended up getting that as it virtually done exactley the same as the Manfrotto's but at quite a bit less than what they wanted for the Manfrotto... Did get it with a Giotto head but sold that and got a Manfrotto ball head as it was easier as I've got a Mnafrotto monopod so I didn't have to keep messing about with different heads..

You could also have a look at Redsnapper as they come recommended on here as well which would come well within your budget..

Ive got the 60D and have just ordered a Giottos MTL9361 with a three way head for £125 delivered, the pod gets an excellent review on tech radar. The head they use is different to the kit I'm getting. Ordered ffrom Digital Depot or available in Jessops for a tenner more.
