I know there's a few South Snowdonia togs on here (Rory and Keith ;)) so looking to pinch a bit of info. I'd like to have a go at Cwmorthin Slate Quarry and having not visit before I'm finding it tricky to work out the best time to visit using TPE

Seems that sunset from Nov onwards looks pretty promising, not 100% sure though

Thanks

Simon

First name was Alan Clogwyn that sprung to my mind Simon as well as the guys you mentioned, you could send him a PM he knows the quarry's really well and all of them

Thanks Kevin, yes I was there last week! Forget sunset, the valley's too deep and practically North-South oriented. Afternoon/evening light gets you Cwmorthin Quarry, Morning light gets you Wrysgan, you can get Rhosydd in the afternoon at the moment but it'll be getting harder as the season rolls on.

The best bits are underground so it doesn't matter what time of day you are there ;)

This is the truth, however I have no underground gear and I'm not stupid enough to go in with a torch!

very sensible.

I do go underground a fair amount and do have the kit for it
I was also fortunate to be taken on a trip down there last month by some locals when I was up there, a great place to explore
